Language model (LLM)

A model trained to predict text; today's "AI agents" almost always wrap one.

Sample glossary term.

A large language model predicts the next tokens of text. Product names change; the job does not. Agents use the model as a policy that speaks in language — including structured tool calls — rather than as the whole product.
